Quality Assurance Manager – Food Ingredients | FDA | Supplier Audits
Client Description:

Our client is a food ingredients manufacturer and distributor focusing on Herbs, Spices & Blends; Confectionery and Natural Products & Organics, with a long standing global worldwide.

Job Description:

  • Report to the Thailand Manager and Head of Quality Assurance (in Australia)
  • Implement and maintain operations of the food safety and quality management system.
  • Assist in all aspects of importation of food products and management of local stock holdings, including Thailand FDA applications and permit approvals.
  • Compliance monitoring of stock held at third party warehouse.
  • Provide Technical Sales support.
  • Implement and maintain operations of the food safety and quality management system (QMS).
  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate QMS practices and procedures for the Thailand.
  • Maintain quality documentation and records within areas of responsibility as required.
  • Undertake internal and external quality and GMP audits of suppliers and third-party warehouse.
  • Maintain data, measure and report compliance at monthly QA meeting via skype.
  • Ensuring quality systems are followed and regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Resolve quality complaints and undertake follow up action with customers and suppliers.
  • In case of new supplier, audit or ensure the quality standard of supplier complies with company’s QMS and customer expectation.
  • Be main check all related regulatory of the food product to import to Thailand such as,
  • FDA, Agricultural Dept, Dept. of Foreign Trade, etc and ensure enough data, document and compliant to be imported to Thailand and management of local stock holdings.
  • Conduct product clearance for the local and local imported products, including direct shipments to customers.
  • Manage noncompliant stock reporting non-conformances to the purchasing team.
  • Guide and help to check the shipping documentation- import and export including the label of the product to be imported.
  • Compliance monitoring of stock held at third party warehouse.
  • Provide Technical Sales and office support.
  • Support Asian Offices and HQ office - vendor assurance team for COA compliance, updated certificate, support customer requirement such as questionnaire, document, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent English language skills both verbal and written are critical for this position.
  • Bachelor degree in Food Technology or related field.
  • 3 + years’ experience in in food quality
  • Strong understanding of basic import/export requirements; including documentation and customs regulations etc.
  • FDA application experience would be advantageous.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Pro-active and a “can-do” attitude
  • Planning and organisational skills. Comfortable with prioritisation and sequencing multiple activities
  • Responsive, self-motivated, show initiative, is open-minded and is a good listener.
